According to the genetic law “The phenotype changes within the genotype.” That is, the health of an individual, its external manifestations, plumpness, stoop and more, can only change within the boundaries of the genetic code laid down to us. It is the individually laid down genes that determine the duration and quality of life. But with his “bad” habits and weaknesses, a person reduces and distorts the quality and duration of life through the genetic code.
For example, if you are personally programmed to live a hundred years, with your “little joys” you will shorten your life in accordance with the magnitude of these joys.
This is about epigenetics (the influence of external factors on DNA - the mechanism of the influence of the environment and environmental changes on the implementation of the genetic scenario). From a positive point of view, the code that was laid down for you at birth for longevity, illness, etc., will manifest itself when appropriate favorable conditions are created for this. For example, mom and dad had diabetes. And you control your blood sugar and avoid this disease. That's how it works.
No, I am not calling for puritanism and a boring lifestyle. On the contrary, I always repeated that the main thing is to enjoy life every moment. Here I am simply repeating that it is never too late to reconsider some weaknesses and turn the rules into joys and a new way of life.

Smoking. Any smoking is extremely dangerous and simply stupid!
Alcohol. Here I am not as critical as with smoking, but still. Abuse of any habit is harmful.
Preventive medicine. I insist on regular check-ups (programs of comprehensive medical examination of the current state of health).
Sugar. Overweight. Movement and sports. Full sleep (7-8 hours). If possible, maximum correction and control of stress and anxiety.
I'm not afraid of looking boring. And when we meet, at every moment allowed to me, I regularly repeat and will repeat to you these simple “truths.” And it’s up to you to make decisions about actions.
